Dominate...Be Tobacco Free
Kids look to coaches and parents as influential role models. As the major influence in a young person’s life, you must educate your players of the importance of being tobacco free. Do not use tobacco products in front of your players. Smoking slows lung growth, decreases lung function and reduces overall performance on the field.
Smokers suffer from shortness of breath and have less endurance. Tell your players SNUS, Black and Mild, cigars, chew, spit and hookah’s are not safe alternatives to cigarettes. Nicotine is as addictive as heroin or cocaine. In Ohio, 28 percent of high school students and 11 percent of middle school students use tobacco. Studies show 80 percent of adult tobacco users began before the age of 18. Help your kids dominate their field and be tobacco free.
